After an extensive and well publicized search, the Jefferson County School Board identified its top to candidates to replace Stephen Daescner who is leaving for Chicago after his contract was not renewed. I know very little about the two candidates other than what was in the paper, but they seem a bit undershelming. Neither one has run a school system bigger than some of our high schools.
My guess is that all of the good candidates were scared away by the looney's that are on the school board. I mean, who would want to work for bosses who are obviously incompetent and overtly political?
I wish who ever get the job the best of luck, but to me, it looks like a career suicide mission.
